Key Passage: Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Introduction: The Question of God’s Will Many believers ask, “What is God’s will for my life?” Ano ba yung will ni God sa aking buhay? As we enter this world, we are conditioned to believe that our experiences, perceptions, and desires define what is right. Is it about career, relationships, or where to live? The Bible teaches that God’s will is not just about decisions—it’s about transformation. Romans 12:2 reveals how we can discover and live out His will. Three Steps to Understanding God’s Will 1. Refuse Conformity “…Do not conform to the pattern of this world…” The world pressures us to chase success, pleasure, and self-centered goals (1 John 2:15-17). 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. God’s will is often opposite of what culture promotes—humility, sacrifice, and holiness (Matthew 6:33). But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Self experience Practical Step: Identify one area in your life where you may be conforming to worldly values (e.g., priorities, relationships, lifestyle) and commit to change. Application: Identify one worldly mindset you struggle with (e.g., materialism, pride, comparison). Take a step to resist it this week. 2. Renew Your Mind Through God’s Word “…But be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Transformation happens when we change the way we think to align with God's truth (Colossians 3:2). Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. By nature we do not usually align with God's truth. We do not want to see God as worthy of knowing well and treasuring above all things. You know this is true about yourself because of how little effort you expend to know him, and because of how much effort it takes to make your mind spend any time getting to know God better. But the good thing is pwede pa rin tayong magbago. We can be renewed by Daily Bible study, prayer, and surrounding ourselves with godly influences which help us see life from God's perspective. Self experience Practical Step: Start a habit of meditating on Scripture daily. Choose one verse each morning and reflect on how to apply it. Application: Pray for God to transform a specific area in your life—whether in character, habits, or relationships. 3. Walk in Faith “…Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” God's will isn’t just a mystery we must figure out—it is revealed as we trust and obey Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). His will includes both His general will (commands for all believers) and specific will (His unique plan for our lives). When our minds are renewed, we gain clarity in discerning God’s purpose for our lives. God’s plans are always beneficial, fulfilling, and lead us to true purpose and joy. Self experience Practical Step: When facing a decision, ask: Does this align with Scripture? Will this decision draw me closer to God? Have I prayed and sought wise counsel? Reflection and Discussion Questions What worldly influences do I need to let go of to follow God’s will? How can I renew my mind daily to better understand God’s will? Is there an area of my life where I need to step out in faith and trust God’s plan? Conclusion: A Life Lived in God’s Will God’s will is not just about making the “right choices” but about becoming the right kind of person—one who reflects Christ. When we refuse to conform to the world, renew our minds with God’s truth, and step out in faith, we will naturally walk in His good, pleasing, and perfect will. 1st point Refuse Conformity 2nd point Renew Your Mind Through God’s Word 3rd point Walk in Faith
