Chapter 2: A new start


Kim followed Ramona through the subspace. 

The door opened, a small crowd of people in her kitchen

<<Hi, Kim>>

<<Hi, Stephen.>>

<<We were about to leave. Is the situation clear to you? We are too tired and Ramona needs to rest>>

<<It quite is.>> replied Kim.
<<We'll talk later. Want anything before bedtime?>>

<<I'm good, just tired>>

as the crowd of friends left the house for the night, Ramona detailed everything to Kim

<<Scott joined Gideon because of the glow, a power that Gideon has, to enhance negative emotions and generate intrusive thoughts>> explained the green hair lady calmly

<<The famous glow you showed, and did not feel like talking about>>

<<Right, I remember now.>>

<<Keep going. Wallace and Stephen, what were they doing?>>

<<Wallace claims his boyfriend Mobile will teach us chi in order to fight them. He is sure Scott is bluffing. As for Stephen Stills, he is disgusted and in disbelief, much like us...>>

<<Damn it, Ramona. I hope Wallace is right. But there is something I gotta confess you, since we all gotta train together>>

<<Yes?>>

<<I kissed Scott to encourage him to fight for you. I was envious of you, before meeting you at the party. I admire you>>


<<You kissed him?! Oh... nevermind... what is done is done>>

A light could be seen in the darkness of Ramona's room. It was still faint, and she hoped it would stay like that.

<<Yeeeet someone is glowing. I'm sorry. I had to tell you.>>

<<You did the right thing. I'm just scared about them now. Thank you for accepting my invite>>

<<It's a pleasure, really. Goodnight, Ramona...>>

<<Night, Kim...>>

Meanwhile, somewhere else, Gideon and Scott were wandering around the huge lair he lived in, showing his new disciple around.

Gideon's house was at the top, the weapons and a secret lab were below, and then there was a huge training room with access to the subspace in case it was needed.

Once the lair tour finished, the house owner brought Scott in the kitchen, starting to make dinner for the both of them

<<The training might include being vegan. So please eat this meat tonight. Unless you wanna skip that part of the training>>

<<I'm still unsure about having vegan powers>>

Scott was enjoying the meat cooked by Gideon. It was delicious

<<Normally I would let my servants cook. >> he paused <<but you are a special guest. Had to cook this meat myself. Is it of your enjoyment?>>

<<Delicious! Oh, how long is my training gonna last?>>

<<A few months. In a hurry to revenge huh?>>

<<Yes. And revenge shall be as delicious as this meat. That bastard, how could you date her? You are a guy of fine taste!>>
<<I only started loving her later. See, she was a guinea pig for my Glow>>

<<Ah speaking of that, I am fine with everything the training requires, but please don't glow at me anymore. Is there really not a cure for it?>>

<<There is>> answered Gideon, finally finishing his plate <<sometimes just confronting your problems makes it stop. But someone like you would have found out even without me saying it. And then a proper cure, but I don't trust you yet.>>

Scott looked silently at Gideon putting the dish in the sink, as he had finished eating food off his plate. Then, he felt the need to say something to break that awkward silence

<<I'll take care of the plates and wash them. What hour is the training tomorrow?>>

<<As you might expect, early morning. Wake up at 6:30, have breakfast with me, shower and then we will start. Come with me, I will show you your room>>

Scott was escorted in a room that had a bathroom included as a separate part of it, and noticed that the window would point at a busy landscape of skyscrapers. 

He kinda missed looking at the window and seeing nature or normal houses, but this was New York, he had to accept it.

<<Good night, my new student. Please make me proud.>>

 <<I will.>> said Scott, undressing himself to wear the pajamas and clothes arranged by his host for the occasion

With a bit of trouble, he closed his eyes to fall asleep and succeeded
