Two men in Brooklyn decided to dig a tunnel under a synagogue, probably because ruining their lives above ground just wasn’t enough. They weren’t looking for treasure—just digging deeper into their own abyss of poor decisions. They tried to expand an existing tunnel, but ended up expanding their criminal incompetence instead. If someone farted in there, history would repeat itself. Caught mid-dig, their tunnel didn’t lead to the promised land, but to an embarrassing arrest and a swift deportation to the closest police station, to remind them of the old times. One officer said: "Never dig straight down".
