Backend Engineer

Who we are
Mogul.sg is a real estate platform aiming to simplify property buying and property selling
with quicker and relevant matches through geospatial data. Our mission is to redefine the
meaning of “where”.

What you’ll be doing
Within the development team you’ll be in charge of designing, developing and maintaining
our backend architecture and service APIs.
You’ll take ownership to design, build and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, performant
systems.
You care about software quality, think about minimizing code debt and improving systems
and processes.
You want to work as part of a team, actively pairing with others and helping to mentor
juniors and taking part in code reviews.

You’ll have
● At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or an excellent
portfolio)
● At least 2 years of backend engineer experience.
● Proficiency with Relational Database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL
● Skilled at database design and optimization
● Strong Proficiency with JS backends, e.g. Typescript / Node.js / Express
● Experience of unit testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Jasmine, Mockito).
● Experience in designing & developing RESTful APIs
● Knowledge of other backend languages / frameworks, e.g. Go, Python, Java
● Ability to communicate well in English and work in teams
Nice to have
● Test driven development / automation and CI/CD pipelines
● Devops experience with software / platform such as Docker, AWS or GCP
● Experience in Microservices and Monitoring
● Experience with ORM / Migration / Event Driven System
● Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Document - Key/Value Store
● Real estate domain experience
