The Witches Road - Shadow of the Caer

The Witches Road leads along the border of the peninsula to lands end where resides the majesty of Caer Viridis. Green parapets cap towers and pearl walls of the floating fortress that is Caer Viridis. Below this gigantic pine trees weaved together by magic into walls surround the Glade. Beyond this is the village where the road ends. A meadow of flowers stretches far away from the village and the Caer. Sheep can often be seen grazing here. The granite road then moves south into the forest and curves east.
The Witches Road and the meadows around it are blanketed in darkness, lit by the swollen moon and the light of a thousand stars. The azure glow of the balefire shines up from the glade, illuminating the floating craag on which the Caer is built.
The leaves in the forest are turning brown and gold and red. The air is crisp.

It's clear, cool, and windy.

Roque is sitting near a tree, on a... is that a lawnchair? He sits quietly, waiting for someone, it seems, or something - he's looking out onto the road.

Roque is an armored man in a fantasy road, sitting in a lawnchair.

Nowell follows behind a Wisp, its silvergreen firelight flickering across his face. He seems to do well by a more crepuscular hour of the day, if the little spring in his step is any indication. As the Wisp nears Sir Roque, it orbits him, then fizzes out. "Sir Roque." He stops himself from going full Courtly bonkers with his bow, and just tilts his head, instead.

Roque stands up, and turns, to fold up his lawnchair, and starts to wrap it in its bag. "Mr. Nowell. Thank you for meeting. Let's talk. What've we got?"

Nowell folds his hands in front of him. "Does the name Jean Pierre de Rossiers au Avignon mean anything to you? Brian is a Sidhe Kinain in his Retinue."

Roque blinks, "That's Matiz De Rossiers' father, I believe. Brian makes sense - he'd be a Kinain. Is Jean Pierre a Kithain?"

Nowell blinks. "I had assumed so, with the information that Brian was part of his Retinue." He gives what only another Sidhe would know is an irritated shake of his head. "I am not great with all the Courts of Neustria. I just went and did my thing, you know?"

Roque hmms... "I always thought Rionain's father was mortal... Unless... it's his mother."

Nowell turns his palms upwards. "Jean Pierre was the name I was given." He pauses. "Oh. Right. You mean...yeah."

Nowell squints. "What house was Matiz?"

Roque says "Dairean. He was Arcadian - his Sidhe name was Rionain - his mortal host was Matiz."

Nowell starts trying to suss it all out. "Ah...so I am not even connecting...yeah. So. Not a lot of Daireanns in France. So I am curious as to how they fit in."

Roque shrugs, "No idea what they want. Matiz didn't get along with his father, so he took his trust fund and came here to run the Marquette. It seems Brian was sent take over. Interesting that they didn't have Matiz's sister Eden do it."

Nowell regards Roque's lawnchair, his expression delighted, somehow. "What does Lilith say to you about your chair? She was big concerned with my fountain pen." The mention of Eden causes that delight to chill over a bit. "I think I understand why people find her frustrating."

Roque chuckles, "I bought it in the village. I use it for sitting in the glade. They have interesting things in the village, believe it or not."

Roque says "She's a little crazy. Is this where you got this information? Through Eden?""

Nowell concurs. "That they do." He shakes his head at Roque's question. "No. I just checked around to see if he was connected to any of the Freeholds in Neustria, and it sounds like Sapphire Seas."

Nowell suggests, "However, we could always have me Ken Brian Fournier, too, just to see if maybe he is Shadow Court?"

Roque shakes his head, "I would be shocked if he were - unless it's not really Brian Fournier. If you can ken him safely, then I suppose there is no harm in it, but I don't think he's Shadow. As for Shadow.... I've come into some information that I need to confirm or deny about our enemies in Shadow Court. I need help running it down. Are you interested?"

Nowell asks, "How close does it get me to seeing Duke Rococo Undone, a smoking crater where his face used to be?"

Roque shrugs, "No clue. I don't think he was behind the attack. /Other/ Shadow Court people were behind the invasion on us. Surely you won't mind turning THEM into a crater?"

Nowell closes one eye and regards the Liam. "Even if he was not. But I don't mind blazing a trail through those others."

Roque shrugs, "I'll take it. We'll be in touch.. Can you keep secrets? We will have a series of covert operations... Can you maintain silence on those? I don't care if you do other stuff - I mean just not talk about /this/ set of missions?"

Nowell asks, "If Aleksander can be in on the conspiracy, yes. If we need to use my Camera, his mind is needed to keep the image."

Roque says "Well, can HE keep his mouth shut, even to other ranking Sidhe?""

Nowell flashes a quick series of /not/ ASL sign language at Roque. "Yes. He is a Sluagh."

Roque says "I'm not asking you to lie to the nobility - just... not bring it up or let it slip, is all."

Roque says "You can even accept missions from them. We'll just work around their requirements. Alright, then. We'll be in touch.""

Nowell nods solemnly. "Of course."
